Vanity Lighting
Bathroom vanity lighting can be accomplished using many unlike types, sizes, and styles of light fixtures. Vanity lighting can come directly from one lighting fixture or from a compounding of a few unlike types of fixtures depending on your lighting needs. Vanity strip, sconces, pendants, ceiling, and sunken are some of the most pop lighting fixtures for the vanity area. Some fixtures are mostly task oriented while others provide general lighting for basic vanity tasks.
Vanity strip lights ar commonly used as the main source of bathroom vanity lighting because it provides sufficient and proper lighting for particular tasks like hair styling, applying contact lenses, or shaving. Strip lights come in 2, 3, 4 or more bulb placements. Each bulb placement is covered with cosmetic glass that can be found to fit a particular style or one that can easy blend with general design schemes. Strip light fixtures can also be installed to face either up or down depending on how much light you want directed at the vanity countertop. Dimmers ar recommended so you can adjust depending on the time of day or on the task you ar trying to complete.Sconces ar usually installed on the wall directly in front of the vanity but for best results it is recommended that you install them in pairs. For instance, when one is installed on either side of the mirror they provide the area with ample lighting for all types of vanity tasks. Sconces can be purchased with one or two bulb placements. There are many ornamental designs to choose from. Some can even be found with colorful glass bulb covers to add an even more profound design element. Pendants are similar to sconces with the only difference being the way that they ar mounted. Pendants are installed to the roof and hang down to whatever height you choose. Pendants are democratic because they can be found in many unlike unusual shapes and styles.
Ceiling light fixtures ar a mustiness in any bathroom design. A light fixture from above provides lighting for basic bathroom vanity tasks like washing hands or brush teeth. Ceiling lights can be found in many sizes, designs, and styles. A pendent is probably the most refined example of this type of lighting. Although the fixture is more of a style element, it still provides sufficient light for general bathroom usage. Recessed lights ar similar in that they are used for general lighting rather than task lighting. Recessed fixtures are great to install under shelves or within the cabinetwork to provide in places that would differently be shadowed or dark. Their main purpose would be to provide a glow so you can find and access items without a problem.
When buying bathroom vanity lighting fixtures for a bathroom consider how much natural light the space has coming from either a window or skylight. Your lighting requirements become much less if you already have a sufficient natural light source. Night time bathroom usage is going to be your main concern so you will need to leverage a fixture or fixtures that can adequately illuminate the vanity area during dark hours. Keep in mind that it may take just one good light source or a compounding of a few to get enough illumination in the bathroom vanity area.
